Irena Kiełb is a Polish photographer who finds inspiration onher morning constitutional. Her collection of snaps takes in snow-cappedlandscapes and quiet corners of the city, making us want to drive to ournearest slice of wilderness and enjoy the peaceful beauty that winter canbring. 伊莲娜·基尔比是一位从清晨散步中寻找灵感的波兰摄影师。她的作品集包括雪顶风景和安静的城市角落，使人想要驱车前往最近的荒郊，享受冬天的宁静之美。
We had a little chat with Irena about her photography and usingher craft as a pictorial diary. 伊莲娜同我们谈了谈她的摄影和手工制成的图片日记。
What is your name and how old are you? Irena Kiełb , I’m 28. 你叫什么，今年多大了？伊莲娜·基尔比，28岁。
Where were you born and where do you live now? I was born in Kraków, Poland and I stilllive here. I like this city mainly because of its atmosphere – not too modern,rather old-fashioned. Life in here isn’t too fast, but it is still a big citywith many places to explore during long walks, which I love. But recently I missnature. A lot.
你是在哪出生的？现在在哪生活？我出生于波兰克拉科夫，现在依然住在这里。我喜欢这个城市主要是因为它的氛围——不是特别现代化，而是有点古典的感觉。这里的生活节奏不快，但仍然是一个大城市，有很多地方可供远足、探索，这一点我很喜欢。但最近我很怀念自然，非常怀念。
How does where you live affect yourphotography? I livein beautiful country, in beautiful city, in a pretty nice place and surroundedby beautiful people – I’m sure it affects my photography somehow. If not myphotography, it affects me. Positively.
你生活的地方对你的摄影有何影响？我生活在一个美丽的国家，一个美丽的城市，一个相当棒的地方，也被美好的人们环绕着——我相信这在某种程度上影响了我的摄影。即使没有影响我的作品，也对我本人有了很多积极的影响。
When did you first know you wanted to be aphotographer? I’mnot sure I’m a photographer, not in a professional way. I’ve always been betterat looking than talking. So instead of words I take pictures. For mephotography is some kind of diary – stories and moments that I want to share. Istarted taking photos when I was a teenager but it took a while until I foundmy own aesthetic.
你第一次知道自己要做一个摄影师是什么时候？我不太确定从专业的角度来讲我是不是一个摄影师。同说话相比，我总是更擅长欣赏，所以我辅助于图片而非文字（来进行表达）。对我而言摄影像是日记——它包含我想要分享的故事和时刻。从青少年时期起我就开始摄影了，但花了些时间才找到自己的美学风格。
What kind of subjects interest you the most? I capture what I love most – things,situations, places which are calm and natural. Peaceful moments, friends,family, simple everyday life and travels in nature – that’s what’s important.
你对哪种主题最感兴趣？我捕捉我爱的一切——宁静而自然的事物、情境、地方。安静的时刻、朋友、家人，都是些日常生活和自然旅行——这些（对于我来说）是重要的。
Is there a running theme to the work youcreate, or do you just make whatever comes to mind? I’m trying to focus on all the specialmoments I see: colours, light, situations, places, things, people… They are aninspiration for me, so I capture them. They create the story of simple life Iwant to live.
在你的作品中有一个持续的主题吗，还是说所有想到的东西你都去拍？我试图聚焦于所有我见到的特殊时刻：色彩、光线、情境、地点、东西、人物……我的灵感来自于此，并用镜头捕捉这些时刻。他们创造了我想要的简单生活的故事。
When it comes totaking photos, do you have more of a controlled/set-up or spontaneous style? I’m rather spontaneous. I capture what I see.Often when nobody sees me.
说到拍照，你更倾向于安排好的/既定的风格还是自发的风格呢？我是相当自发性的。我往往在无人之处捕捉我看见的一切。
What advice can you offer on finding yourpersonal style or aesthetic? Think what’s important for you and what makes you you.Spend time with yourself. Do not copy and don’t be too ambitious. Takepleasure. Be honest. Be careful. And be patient.
对于找到自己的风格或审美，你有什么建议吗？想一想对你重要的东西，使你成为你自己的东西；多一些和自己相处的时间；不要照抄也不要太有野心；享受生活，诚实，细心，还要有耐心。
What are the hallmarks of a great photographer? I think it has to be something special inhis work. I cannot say what it is, but I’m sure it’s connected with beauty. Isuppose a great photographer doesn’t have to say anything; the photo issufficient.
一个杰出的摄影师有何特点？我认为其作品必须要有一些特色的地方。我说不上来具体是什么，但我确定这与美有关。我以为一个杰出的摄影师不必说些什么，照片就足够了。
What are your thoughts on the rise of mobilephone photograph y mobile phone. Butpersonally I’m rather a film photography person. It requires a lot of respect;you have to be patient, frugal and careful. And you are never sure what thefinal effect will be like. I think film photography helps people to slow down,stop for a moment and think what’s valuable.
对于手机摄影和Instagram的兴起，你怎么看？我并不讨厌Instagram，人们开始同图片表达自我，这很好。但就个人而言我更喜欢胶片。胶片摄影需要尊重很多东西，你必须很有耐心，简洁朴素且小心翼翼。而且你永远不知道最后效果如何。我认为胶片摄影使人慢下来，为某个时刻驻足并思考什么才是有价值的。
What is the strangest thing or thought that hasinspired a photo? Idon’t know… it might be the rapture of God’s creation. I’m often thrilled bythe beauty of the world. Maybe it’s not strange, but I’m sure it’s an importantone.
是什么稀奇古怪的东西或想法激发了你的灵感？我不知道……或许是上帝创生的着迷吧。我经常激动于世界是如此地美丽。或许这不足为奇，但我很肯定这是很重要的一点。
Which other photographers do you love? I admire the work of well-knownJacques-Henri Lartigue, Elliot Erwitt, Vivian Maier… But an everyday joy andtrue inspiration to me are Anna Nycz, Nicola Odermann, Randy P. Martin,Anna&Marek Strachan, Sara Martins, Barbara Nowak, apasz, zarianka and manyothers.
你喜欢的摄影师有哪些？我很欣赏著名的雅克 - 亨利·拉蒂格，艾略特·厄维特，薇薇安·迈尔等人的作品。但我日常的乐趣和真正的灵感来自安娜·尼兹，尼古拉·奥德曼，兰迪·P·马丁，安娜·斯特罗恩和马雷克·斯特罗恩，萨拉·马丁斯，芭芭拉·诺瓦克，apasz，zarianka等等。
What do you enjoy doing when not taking photos? I like to sew in my attic. I lovetravelling with friends, being close to nature. Sitting in the garden andtelling stories. Long, long walks. Watching movies. Reading children’s books.Bake, but not too often.
不拍照的时候你喜欢干什么？我喜欢在阁楼里做针线活，和朋友一起旅行、与自然亲近，坐在花园里讲故事，长时间的散步，看电影，读童书，烘培，但是不是很频繁。
